Alsace, a country between two cultures

Alsace is the smallest region of France and is located in the east of the country, on the border with Germany and Switzerland. Because of its unique geographical location, this region bordered by the Rhine River has been at the heart of many wars and has changed nationality several times, depending on the winners of each battle.
